‘A Cold Day in July’ is an English phrase that directly translates as ‘A Cold Day in July. The phrase derives from the fact that summer in Europe occurs in July, ensuring the absence of cold days, and that July remains the rainy season even in tropical places like Thailand. As a result, the chances of having a cold day are almost nonexistent. Therefore, “A Cold Day in July” represents the theme of “impossible things.”
In this exhibition, Art Jeeno uses his unique manga storytelling techniques and oil on canvas to convey a story about the impossible through the characters “He” and “She.” Despite living in the same environment, they were vastly different in every way. Their trajectories were like two lines that would never cross. But on a gloomy day in July, two worlds clashed. This becomes a never-ending, loving narrative.
